Taking a little time to catch up on the spring travel season. Starting with our ten-minute ferry ride from the Dubrovnik port to an incredible island, not to be missed! Lokrum Island has a scattered history. First mention of the island was in 1023.
Walking through the walls into the Old Town of Dubrovnik was exciting! It was immediately obvious that this was another incredible Croatian area. Home of Game of Thrones, day one started with many reminders that this is home to the popular series.
Split is not just limestone and marble… it is also quite fertile. Thick flowery shrubs, trees and bushes could be found all over town! This was on my way to visit Salt Gluten-Free House for the second time!
On the Flixbus… what a bargain! Not the most luxurious way to travel but definitely a decent way to travel at a very good price. Zadar to Split… our next stop.
Jumping on our second FlixBus from Split to Dubrovnik. It can be a little slow but what an inexpensive (and comfortable) way to travel across Europe!
Starting the day with a colorful sunrise, it was a full day! Naps, exploration and good food is how this day was spent!
Generally, the theme of our travels so far… eat, eat, eat! With restaurants everywhere, it is constant temptation to try something new. Here is an appetizer that we both loved! Mounds of prosciutto, covering fresh burrata and sliced pears. Great combo…
