After three months of relentless storms… dropping between 21 and 49 feet, depending on where one lives… we finally escaped! Taking advantage of a break, we headed to Reno to jump on a plane. Flying “standby” is usually difficult, but with all of the snow, highway travel was challenging. However, we made it! Jumped into our “exit row” seats and got out of town!
Next port of call… Athens, Greece. Click on the photo to see how we spent a leisurely day exploring…
Travel plans are in full swing… only three weeks until we are planes, trains and automobiles (throw in a cruise ship)! While we work out all the details, I figured it was a good time to look back on experiences that haven’t been documented yet. Click on the photo to see our time in Rome, Italy.
Once off the ship… we didn’t want the fun to stop so we headed to a Texans football game!
Considering it’s been a minute since we’ve visited Cozumel, we decided to break our norm of hanging out on the ship in ports we frequent. Out for the day, we go!
Oh how I’ve missed these towel elephants (and monkeys)! Nothing says you’re back onboard like discovering a specially folded towel upon returning from a night of fun!
Raining outside did not “dampen” my spirits! Walking toward the new terminal in Galveston and on up the escalator, I felt a wave of emotion come over me. It had been so long. At times, I feared there would never be another sea day for me. Yet up the giant escalator I go!
